The WellMed Charitable Foundation, a non-profit 501(C) 3 organization, supports older adults and their caregivers. All senior centers offer no-cost programs for anyone age 60 and older, as well as their primary family caregivers.

Senior Activity Centers: state-of-the-art facilities offering fitness equipment and exercise classes such as Zumba, strengthening and balance, dance, cooking, art and computer classes, recreational activities such as pool, ping-pong, cards and more.

• Nutrition and Socialization: senior activity centers in Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Harlingen, McAllen, San Antonio, Texas and Miami, Florida all offer no cost lunches. Each location has resource information for food bank as well as programs to reduce social isolation
• Falls Prevention: online or in-person individual fitness instruction for patients who need strength and balance training
• Texas: Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Harlingen, McAllen, San Antonio
• Florida: Miami, Orlando, Tampa

Virtual Senior Centers: online fitness, art and cooking classes that are available anywhere in the country

• Now included: Wowzitude Travel Club with live-streamed tours all over the world

Caregiver SOS: support for families of a patient who needs 1-1 caregiving information, support groups or community resources. Available in person or online in Spanish and English

• Caregiver Teleconnection: hour-long sessions where caregivers get education and advice from caregiving experts and talk with other caregivers on Zoom or over the phone. Monthly calendar available
• Stress-busting Program: evidence-based stress self-management classes available online or in-person in Spanish and English for caregivers of someone with dementia or chronic illness

Brain Health Program: in-person classes offering brain health activities and resources to support older adults with no or mild cognitive impairment or dementia

Dementia Support Program (San Antonio only): community health workers conduct in-home safety assessments for patients with cognitive impairment who live alone and connect them to community resources that may help them stay in their home longer
