April 5, 2024

On April 8, a total solar eclipse wil pass over the northern hemisphere, directly over Texas and several of our WellMed markets. The full effects will be seen over parts of San Antonio, Austin, Fort Worth and Dallas as it travels on its north-easterly path.

All WellMed clinics will remain open, business as usual, so we are available for our patients.

At WellMed, we are reaching out to our high-needs patients in our affected Texas markets to ensure they have all they need, including medication, oxygen and transportation. In addition, our Comfort Care vehicles will be fueled and ready in advance.

Please put safety first. Even when the sun is completely covered by the moon, it is still dangerous to look directly at the sun. To avoid damage such as retinal burns, which can cause blindness, you’ll need a pair of eclipse glasses; regular sunglasses won’t do the job. The best quality eclipse glasses wil carry an ISO compliance label.
