WellMed designated Age-Friendly Health System

In 2024, WellMed and Optum clinics in Texas and Florida received the Age-Friendly Health System designation, an endorsement of our commitment to older patients. The designation means our care teams follow an essential set of evidence-based practices, and focus on what matters to older adults and their caregivers.

What Age-Friendly means

Age-Friendly Health Systems is an initiative of The John A. Hartford Foundation and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), in partnership with the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA). By awarding this designation, these organizations confirm the way WellMed/Optum has helped patients for decades: by providing high-quality, compassionate care.
