Medha Chunduru, MD

Medha Chunduru, MD, believes compassionate listening is the best approach to patient care. Family and palliative medicine are her specialties—one allowing her to guide patients through daily life and the other to be present at their bedside towards their end of life.

Dr. Chunduru was raised in Olympia, Washington. After earning her medical degree at Kasturba Medical College in India, Dr. Chunduru completed her residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Rockford, Illinois, and the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in New York. She views medicine as a fascinating combination of both science and art, which inspired her to pursue a career in this field.

Delivering continuity of care and getting to know her patients as they age are Dr. Chunduru’s favorite aspects of serving as a primary care physician. Geriatrics, women’s health, chronic medical conditions, and in-clinic procedures are among her many top clinical interests. She currently lives in Newark, New Jersey, with her husband, who is also a physician. Hiking through national parks, doing arts and crafts and spending quality time with family are her favorite activities.
