Biography

Born and raised in Camuy, Puerto Rico, Sara Cruz-Luna, MD, always wanted to be a physician for as long as she can remember. She pursued a career in medicine to improve the health and lives of others and to become a lifelong leader in health care.

Dr. Cruz-Luna enjoys practicing internal medicine because it allows her to treat and manage various conditions. Her favorite aspect of being a doctor is working closely with patients to treat, manage and prevent chronic conditions, including diabetes, arthritis, heart disease and depression. For patient care, her philosophy is “we are in this together,” which she believes empowers patients to gain more control over their health.

Palliative care, COPD, geriatrics and thyroid disorders are other top clinical interests of Dr. Cruz-Luna. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dogs, going to baseball games, and catching up with friends. She currently resides in Dunedin, Florida, with her husband and children.
